Burtonsville Roy Rogers to Open Week of Dec. 17
The Frederick-based food chain gained special permission to build a drive-thru.
Burtonsville may open an early holiday present: A spokesperson for Roy Rogers said the chain will open its Burtonsville location the week of Dec. 17.
After signing a lease in June, the Frederick, MD-based chain known for chicken and big burgers is setting up shop in Burtonsville Town Square. They're currently constructing a separate building near Capital One bank to accomodate a drive-thru.
Roy Rogers had to appeal to Montgomery County government for permission to build a drive-thru, a request that the county's planning board eagerly accepted with a couple of standard provisions, Patch reported. One condition is the hours of operation be limited to 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., with an extra hour on weekend nights.
The restaurant is helping to fill the shopping center, which opened in mid 2010. Petco will open soon and Chris Jones, owner of center's management company, told Patch the he was looking to bring at least one additional restaurant to the center.
