Chamber of Commerce Recognizes Six Local Businesses

The Greater Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce (GSSCC) awarded six local businesses "Shining Stars" Wednesday evening for their dedication to making their establishments a great place to work, live and play.
Award winners include: Fenwick Beer & Wine, DB Consulting, A Wider Circle, and United Therapeutics. The Silver Spring Urban District and the Montgomery County Department of Correction & Rehabilitation were recognized for the “Weekend Warriors” program.
GSSC also honored officers Eric Hammelton and Richard Reynold as “Montgomery County 3rd District Police Officers of the Year.” They were both honored for their bravery during an April 2011 incident in which a 5-month-old baby boy’s life was threatened by a person with a knife during a domestic dispute in Silver Spring.
