A fire overnight damaged the Sushi Jin restaurant located at 8555 Fenton St.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Battalion Chief Paul McNeel who was working the scene said the fire didn’t damage
any other business.

“Apparently the fire occurred after the business closed last night [Sunday].
Until we get done our investigation we don’t really have anything to
go on yet. It only affected the one business,” McNeel said.

Before the restaurant reopens the owners will have to be cleared by
various officials, he added.

“As well as our code enforcement officers, we have to get the health
department in,” McNeel said.

The restaurant will also have to replenish their food supply.

“Most of the food in the restaurant will be condemned because after a
fire because of the smoke and heat. It will have to be deposed of,” he
added.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation and no injuries
were reported.

Bummer. In that same building is the vacant Ritz Camera space which appears to be under construction or at least undergoing asbestos remediation. I wonder if they have a tenant lined up for the space. I sure hope so and sure hope it's a decently interesting restaurant/shop.

So sushi jin wasn't being "dirty"? If the cause
for shutting down was a fire, then I don't feel so bad for eating there. As long as I wasn't eating anything contaminated...
