“We’re so thankful to Kid Rock for this donation,” Green said. “I know there are a lot of worthwhile charities in the D.C. area and I’m honored that he chose So Kids Can for this grant.”

Green and Segal created the So Kids Can program in 2008 to benefit youth-focused, nonprofit organizations.

For the second-straight year So Kids Can will partner with KaBOOM! to raise money to build a Capitals-themed playground for an underserved community in the Washington metropolitan area.

KaBOOM!, a national nonprofit based in nation's capital, dedicated to saving play across the country and is best known for its all-volunteer, done-in-a-day playground builds.

Silver Spring is just one stop for Kid Rock during his club tour across the country.

At each stop he is donating money to local charities, causes and individuals through his foundation and a team of Detroit titans, to show support for other cities in need.
