Police believe that a man who received treatment at a local hospital may be the victim of a shooting in Silver Spring Monday evening.

Montgomery County police officers responded to a call in the 1100 block of Good Hope Road around 8:45 p.m. where a man told them he may have shot another man, police said.

According to police, the man said that he was involved in an altercation with a female acquaintance and another unknown male. The man told police that he shot a firearm and may have hit the man. Neither the unknown male nor the woman were still on the scene when police arrived, the report stated. 

Later, a man arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound, police said, and detectives believe the two incidents are related. The man is in serious condition, according to police.
