Montgomery County Schools Set to Re-Open Wednesday
Ten Montgomery County public schools remained without power as of 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30.
Montgomery County Public Schools and offices will open on time Wednesday, Oct. 31, according to a county schools statement.
County schools and administrative offices were closed on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 29 and 30, due to Hurricane Sandy.
"As of 9 a.m. Tuesday, there were 10 MCPS schools and buildings without power and only minor damage was reported to school facilities. MCPS is working to make sure all buildings are ready to open on time Wednesday morning," according to the statement.
"If it becomes necessary to close individual schools due to power loss or storm-related damage, MCPS will communicate directly with those school communities, as well as through the media and emergency communication methods," the statement said.
