Pedestrian Struck By Vehicle on Georgia Avenue

Fire and rescue officials said the woman did not sustain serious injuries.

 

An adult female was stuck by a car in the 8200 block of Georgia Avenue in downtown Silver Spring Thursday afternoon, a spokesperson from Montgomery County Fire and Rescue confirmed. Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene around 2:52 p.m. 

The woman is not believed to have sustained serious injuries and was taken to MedStar Washington Medical Center in Washington, DC as part of a routine exam. 

A spokesperson for Montgomery County Police was unable to confirm whether the department will investigate.

Meditation Museum, Silver Spring

Thanks for the story Whitney. It is great to hear that the pedestrian who was struck by the car may not have sustained serious injuries.

A group of students at the Meditation Museum saw the incident and took a few moments to send good wishes and pure feelings to the person who was struck and also to the driver who was certainly shaken up.

It would be a lot more helpful to know more of the circumstances. Was she in the crosswalk? Walking with the light?

absolutely right, Barbara. that's the type of information the police department provides, since they investigate the collision while the fire/rescue people are there to assist with injuries. mcpd didn't have details at the time the story was reported.
