Shephard's Table has a thrift store inside to help people in need of clothing. Discovery employees are helping to organize the closet which is used by an average of 40 to 60 people a week. (June 15, 2012)

Discovery Communications hosts its third annual Discover Your Impact volunteer day in Silver Spring. In total about 3,500 employees are volunteering their time around the globe Friday.
Employees took the day off from work to volunteer at Shepard's Table and Community Vision downtown.
