I'm in this post office two or three times a week and it's usually very busy. This story demonstrates why I'm pro-gun-control. The NRA likes to say that if someone wants to kill, a knife will do the job as efficiently as a gun. But if this attacker had used a gun instead of a knife he could have potentially shot several other people in the time it took him to stab that one poor victim. And the employees who came to the rescue could also have been shot before they even reached the doorway.

Very shocking to have this happen in your own backyard. My daughter lives in Brooklyn, Crown Heights specifically, and this crime in Colesville reminds me not to worry so much about her safety. Violence is everywhere.

I think poeple are just CRAZY who do these crimes - I mean what in the world was this man thinking? He will have plenty of time in Prison to think about what stupid thing he did.. Hope the victim is ok

Sensless! This is my post office too, and although it's usually busy, people are generally very patient. It's chilling to think that someone could get so upset because they (mistakenly) thought someone cut in front of them. I hope the suspect goes to jail for a long time. We don't need people like that on the streets.

It would really be nice if these articles would mention the state as well as the town. I usually have to click on a link, in just about every article written, to find out the state. Do the authors of these stories not know that people from around the world read these and might not know what state the mentioned town is in? I certainly hope the victim makes a speedy and complete recovery. You never know these days, what will happen from one moment to the next. The world is definitely becoming a scarey place.

May I just make an observation? Do you all see how angry and harsh some of the people here are getting over typed words? Our society has gotten so angry and vile -- for what reason? Anger is just running wild. Hope the ones I am talking about can go back and reread their posts and ask yourself--"wow---did I really get that angry for something someone else said that did not even apply to me". This attack is proof that we need stronger Knife-control laws. If we only had knife-control laws that prohibited citizens from buying knives, this kind of thing would never happen, and we could live in a violence-free paradise. Everyone should stand up and demand knife-control laws!

After reading some of the comments that needs to go unsaid (name calling, telling people to go on medication) how dare the commentors complain about the man with the knife. You are just as bad, starting trouble. Wouldnt it be ok to just say we are sorry about what happened and wish the victim well? People are using this commentary to support their own political agenda. Where has that been proven? What studies? It's an opinion, not a fact. Stricter limits in this country on gun manufacturing, importation, and ownership would, in my opinion, automatically reduce gun violence. It wouldn't eliminate it, but it would reduce it. And it obviously wouldn't stop anyone from killing with another weapon but guns make killing easy, impersonal, and fast.

I remember taking Judo in college. The sensei, a seventh degree black belt, correctly told us, "someone wants to fight you, you walk away". That didn't mesh with my purpose. I wanted to learn how to kick heads. I gradually learned to accept his wisdom. He taught us that Judo and Jiu Jitsu was a last resort.
Now we have a 67 yr old waiting to ambush a fellow patron because his mind conjured up taking cuts in line??? With a knife?!? And no threat of physical harm to himself??? My wife's kindergarten class is better behaved (and unarmed). What happened to common sense

Ok, I have just read the comments and I don't think anyone has mentioned the BRAVE LADY postal employees who fought the knife carrying wacko and possibly saved a life. All the people who have nothing nice to say about the post office should just think about whether they would be so brave. Heroes, you bethca. Nice job ladies.

Wow, you can't feel safe anywhere anymore! I don't care if a person cuts in line or not, you just don't go around taking the law into your own hands, unless you yourself are being threatened. If the jerk would have just asked the guy why he was cutting in front of him, he would have found out what the situation really was. But no, @@. I sure hope the victim sues the hell out of him!
