POLL: Marriage Equality in Maryland

The Maryland General Assembly started January 11.

Maryland Delegates Heather Mizeur (D-20, Montgomery County) and Keiffer Mitchell Jr. (D-44, Baltimore City) are set to host a Marriage Equality Town Hall in Silver Spring Thursday, Jan. 19 to make their push for turning the Civil Marriage Protection Act into law.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. inside of the Silver Spring Civic Building.

As the 90-day legislation session gets under in Annapolis, Mizeur is making another push for marriage equality.

The bill passed the State Senate in 2011 with a 25-21 vote, but the measure was killed in the House after being recommitted for further discussion by House Judiciary Chairman Del. Joseph Vallario Jr. (D-Calvert and Prince George's counties).

Maryland Senate President Mike Miller (D) pledged to take the up measure early on in the 2012 legislative session.

Marriage equality already exists. I do not support this BILL.
