Reports: Surveillance Video from Silver Spring Bus Crash
MyFoxDC.com released video from inside the Ride-On bus that smashed into a home in Hillandale Monday.
How exactly did a Ride-On bus carrying passengers end up with its front grill pressed into the front porch of a house in Silver Spring Monday?
Montgomery County Police, along with Fire and Rescue Services and Ride-On officials, are still investigating the cause of the collision that left four passengers and the bus driver with minor injuries shortly before 11 a.m. on Aug. 20.
MyFoxDC.com published videos from inside the bus that show the collision in detail. One video, labeled "CAM6" shows the bus making a right turn onto Avenel Road and, missing the appropriate lane, driving past both lanes of traffic onto one house's front lawn, hitting a black car. (Police confirmed that the car was a taxi parked at the home next door.)
In that video, the passengers, about 10, quickly deboard the bus, some staggering and one leaning against a nearby parked car for support.
The second video, "CAM5," is more of a straight-on view and ends once the front of the bus crashes into the home.
