Silver Spring Welcomes New Consignment Shop

The public is invited to the ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday.



The Greater Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce (GSSCC) officially welcomes a new business to downtown Silver Spring Friday.

Bahia Akerele, the owner of, will celebrate the grand opening of her store with an array of activities throughout the weekend.

The store-located at 955 Bonifant St.- is the second new clothing store downtown residents are welcoming to the neightborhood.  In April, The Peterson Companies announced the opening of the Swedish-owned fashion company H&M on Ellsworth Drive in the fall.

To kick off the weekend celebration, GSSCC will assist in the ribbon cutting ceremony Friday, May 18 at 1 p.m.

On Saturday and Sunday, the community is invited to party and shop from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with DJ Ray, complimentary drinks, and a make-up artist who will be on hand to share great tips and more.

The store will open later on Sunday from 1-6 p.m.
