I was in Bethany Beach on Friday night and we were spared most of this storm. I think by the time it hit the coast it started spliting up. I think O. C. got the brunt of it.

Jenni - I agree too! Perfectly said. I woke up Friday night feeling sick when I heard those winds and saw all that lightning.

I was so fascinated by the weather, the seriousness didn't hit me right away. I was like a kid: "Look at the lightning! Look at all that wind and water!" But I also live in a 100 year old brick house that didn't shake a bit. I just thought it was a cool storm until my friends started calling. It hit DC hard.

After 7 days we have electricity. If you lost cable, Comcast will reimburse you for te time you were without electric. You just have to call and let them know how many days. I do not know about Verizon. From what I do know about Verizon is, good luck in reaching anyone. Glad to have power and so gratful to all the power companies that left their families and are still here trying to help the state of Maryland. My hates off to you all and the people from BGE.

@Charlene, Comcast will reimburse after the first 24 hours. if it was out for 3 days, you get refunded for only 2 days. Since I am bundled with TV, Internet and phone-they give you a small rate for all three and not not for each. If the phone and not the TV or the computer is out they do not refund anything. So good luck with that

Comcast nor Verizon are going to reimburse you if your power was out...or for an act of God either. Why should they? It isn't their fault that you had no power!

Be grateful that you have/will have power, phone, tv, Internet back at all. Some people out west have lost everything in the fires to no fault of anyones except for the weather (same as here). When you see them on tv they are just grateful to be alive and be with their families. I'm ashamed I can't say the same about my neighbors here in MD. People here are not so nice or grateful.

This was a very inconvenient and expensive event. Like many others, we lost a ton of money with the spoilage of food in a large chest freezer and two refrigerator freezers. I certainly do appreciate the poor guys who had to collect everyones putrifying groceries, especially in such heat. We are blessed by having our homes intact and the ability to get back to normal.
