The Burtonsville Volunteer Fire Deparment is hosting a new community activity this Spring - The BOX ALARM 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run.

You've probably already attended the Annual Summer Carnival (held this year 9/13- 9/22), so you know how fun the BVFD events are.  The 5K will be no different.

It's being held May 6 starting just behind the fire house, beginning at 7:30AM (Fun Run), with the 5K at 8AM.  

What makes this event different from other 5K's?  Firefighters.  EMT's.  Firetrucks.  Some firefighters have volunteered to run in full gear.  Bring your children out to see them and the trucks.  Music will follow the race, being transmitted from the antique engine.  A moon bounce will also be available for children.

The race itself is an out-and-back course.  Water and food will be available following the race, as well as booths from our sponors.
