Comedy's Best Kept Secret Tour

From Hookah to Haha: Silver Springs Native Makes Strides in DC Comedy Circuit

WASHINGTON, DC August 29th 2013 — Martin Amini grew up in a family where hard work was simply the way of life. Amini learned from an early age that diligence creates success, courtesy of spending his youth helping his father’s thriving ice cream truck business. Once upon a time, as an Entrepreneurship student at UMD, Amini envisioned opening his own Hookah Lounge, but instead finds himself running one of the hottest comedy shows six years later. If you have ever been to the Martin Amini & Friends Comedy Show at Heaven and Hell, then you can tell from the 300 attendees that he is his father’s son.

After college, Amini moved to Los Angeles to pursue film. There he worked with Ben Stiller, Mark Odeski, and the producers of Pulp Fiction. While working in LA, he was asked to film a comedy tour which forever changed his career perspective. He was drawn to the challenges a comedian faces while having to perform for different audiences every night, “The rush of needing to prove yourself over and over again.” He became addicted to the art and decided to move back to DC to pursue comedy, bringing the LA comedy experience with him. His shows are hip and energy packed, part comedy show part nightclub, DJ's spinning records, and live bands warming up the crowd.

Only 15 months into his comedy career, Amini is well on his way to success. Considered by some to be a local celebrity, Martin has been featured in Complex Magazine twice and has a loyal fan base that supports him in all his endeavors.

This September, Amini will co-produce The Martin Amini and Friends Presents: Comedy's Best Kept Secret Tour. Since January, the  Comedy's Best Kept Secret Tour has hit 18 cities across the United States and featured some of the most impressive under-the-radar talent working in comedy today.

Tour producer Dan Frigolette is an NYC comedy staple and runs the successful Hoboken Comedy Festival. The 2013 festival welcomes headliners Artie Lange (Howard Stern), Chuck Nice (The Today Show, HGTV), Jessimae Peluso (Girl Code), Andrew Schulz (Guy Code), and Thomas Dale (Chelsea Lately) this October 2-6th.

Martin Montana, Gordon Baker-Bone, and Dan Frigolette are Comedy's Best Kept Secret—three amazingly talented comedians who haven't made it into the limelight...yet. The tour has stopped in 18 cities across the United States, and now comes to Heaven and Hell on Friday, September 13, 2013, to share Comedy's Best Kept Secret.

Martin Amini will be the master of ceremonies, backed by his resident DJ Q. Doors and live music begin at 8pm and the show is scheduled to start 9pm. Tickets are $15 before the show and $20 at the door. Pre-Sale tickets can be purchased at http://bestkeptsecret.brownpapertickets.com/
