Silver Spring Mini Maker Faire needs old electronics

Recycle Your Old Computer, Laptops, Video Players, Cell Phones, CD/DVD Players

The Rockville Science Center is hosting an exhibit at the Silver Spring Mini Maker Faire on Sunday, September 29. Our exhibit will feature kids taking apart electronic devices: old computers, laptops, video recorders, cell phones, CD/DVD Players. They will reduce the contents to elements (wires, boards, and the raw components, etc.) and in doing so, will learn something amazing about what goes on inside electronic devices and how to take them apart! They will then be invited to hot glue parts together to make a junk sculpture that they can take home.

This is how you can help. The Rockville Science Center wants lots of old computers and other electronic gadgets. If you have any to get rid of, we can take them off your hands. We will find a way to pick them up, or you can drop them off at our office in the VisArts building, located at 155 Gibbs St, Suite 300, in downtown Rockville. Feel free to share this note with anyone you think might have something for our exhibit. Emailinfo@RockvilleScienceCenter.org or call 240-FUN-8111 for information.
