The Universities at Shady Grove to Host Student-sponsored Maryland Gubernatorial Candidates Forum on March 24

Forum Will Feature Four Md. Gubernatorial Race Candidates

The race for governor of Maryland will make its way to The Universities at Shady Grove on Monday, March 24, at noon, when USG students will host a ‘Speak Up!’ forum that is slated to feature four of the announced Maryland gubernatorial candidates.

The ‘Speak Up!’ forum, organized by students from UMBC’s Political Science Student Organization (PSSO) and USG’s Law and Law Related Careers Association (LLRA), is open both to students and interested community members. It will be held in USG’s Auditorium, in Building I. The campus is located at 9630 Gudelsky Drive, Rockville, MD 20850.

The following candidates have confirmed their attendance: Democrats Doug Gansler, Attorney General for the State of Maryland, and Heather Mizeur, State Delegate (District 20); and Republicans David Craig, Harford County Executive, and Charles Lollar, a Charles County businessman. The panel-style event will allow USG students and other local constituents to interact with the candidates and hear more about each candidate’s campaign platform.
