Here are five things to know as you go out throughout your day.

Good morning, Silver Spring! Here are five things to know this  Thursday to help you keep up-to-date about what’s going on in the community:

1. Today should be partly sunny with temperatures near 40 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Tonight: Scattered flurries are in the forecast with mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures may reach the mid 20s.

2. The Marrige Equality Town Hall meeting is scheduled today inside of the Silver Spring Civic Building from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Delegate Heather Mizeur (D-20) and Delegate Keiffer Mitchell Jr. (D-44) are set to host the event. 3. The county launched a new website called My Green Montgomery. It keeps you up-to-date on the latest ways you can save money on utilities, quick tips on gardening and  much more.

4. Interested in taking your skills and assisting the community? There are two board vacancies in Montgomery County with fast-approaching deadlines. County Executive Isiah Leggett is looking to fill six vacancies on the Committee on Hate/Violence (must apply by Jan. 20) and to fill primary and alternate positions on the Property Tax Assessment Appeal Board (must apply by Jan. 27).
