Big Book Sale

  • Where:  Rockville Memorial Library, 21 Maryland Ave, Rockville
  • When:  Saturday, May 25, 10 a.m.
  • Description:  The Rockville Friends of the Library (FOL) will hold a big book and media sale at the library (Town Square) on May 25th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Free Remodeling & Design Seminars-How to fall in love with your home again

  • Description:   Visitors are invited to sit down with experts at Hopkins and Porter and get questions answered.  A complimentary lunch will be served during which visitors may have one-on-one conversations with designers.

Flower Avenue Outdoor Market

  • When:  Saturday, May 25, 9 a.m.
  • Description:  Flower Avenue Holiday Market will run every Saturday through the end of the year and may soon be open Sundays as well.

Pontoon Boat Tours at Seneca Creek State Park

  • Where:  Seneca Creek State Park, 11950 Clopper Rd, Gaithersburg
  • When:  Saturday, May 25, 1 p.m.
  • Description:  Visitors are invited to join a Park Ranger for a guided exploration of Clopper Lake aboard the pontoon boat "Blue Heron."  Learn about the birds, fish and mammals which call the lake home.

Fathom Sculptural Exploration of another World

  • Where:  May 7 – June 8, Tuesday – Saturday 12- 6 p.m.
  • When:  Waverly Street Gallery, 4600 East West Hwy, Bethesda
  • Description:  The organic visions of glass artist Alison Sigethy and clay artist Liz Lescault speak to each other. Collaborating for the first time, Sigethy and Lescault create enigmatic yet seductive life forms.
  • Cost:  Free

Cinderella

  • Where:  Glen Echo Park, 7300 MacArthur Blvd., Glen Echo
  • When:  Thursdays and Fridays, 10 & 11:30 a.m.,  Saturdays and Sundays, 11:30 a.m. & 1 p.m.
  • Description:  The classic tale of Cinderella set in 17th century France told with puppets. Recommended for ages K-6.  
  • Cost: $10

Home front Street Cars

  • Where:  National Capital Trolley Museum, 1313 Bonifant Rd, Colesville
  • When:  Saturday, May 25, Sunday, May 26, Monday, May 27
  • Description:  Homefront Street Cars, recalls the impact of the War on the men and women of the Capital Transit Company who supported the efforts of the armed forces with their labor. Visitors are invited to step back to the homefront with these films: Tilley the Trolley and Billy the Bus shown plus Ten Seconds to Go.

Big Nate: A World Premiere Musical

  • Where:  7300 Macarthur Blvd, Glen Echo
  • When:  Saturday, May 18, 11 a.m.
  • Description:  Musical based on the comic strip and books by Lincoln Peirce, Book by Jason Loewith, Lyrics by Chris Youstra & Jason Loewith.
  • Cost: $19

Conversation Club at Long Branch Library

  • Where:  Silver Spring Library, 8901 Colesville Rd, Silver Spring
  • When:  Saturday, May 18, 11 a.m.
  • Description:  Conversation Club is for anyone who would like to practice speaking English and learning about the American culture. Please contact the library for more details.
  • Cost:  Free

Laugh Riot at the Hyatt

  • Where:  Hyatt Regency Bethesda, 1 Bethesda Metro Ctr, Bethesda
  • When:  Saturday, March 30, 8 p.m.
  • Description:  3 local comics perform, $25 cash prize joke contest for non-com audience members after the show.
  • Cost: $10
