Silver Spring Ice Rink at Veterans Plaza Opens Friday

The downtown SIlver Spring rink at Veterans Plaza will be open until March.

Since it debuted in late 2010, the rink has remained open daily through March. Last year, 47,000 people skated on the ice, the newspaper reported.

For those that aren't comfortable on the ice yet, look for five-week sessions starting late October for youth, adults, ice hockey, parent-child pairs and home school students, said the Gazette.
