The Blairs Gets Charged Up for Electric Cars

Silver Spring apartment building installs charging station for electric vehicles.

Recently, the company that manages used a State of Maryland grant to install charging stations for electric vehicles. The Silver Spring apartment building is one of the few places in Montgomery County to have the cutting-edge equipment – there are additional outlets in Rockville. According to The Gazette as many as 80 stations are expected to be in operation at various locations throughout the state by the end of the summer.

David Borchardt, the Chief Sustainability Officer for The Tower Cos. (the company that manages The Blairs) is very excited about the installation of the charging stations.

“Tower wants to help provide the infrastructure that is needed to promote this change in our transportation. If people are actually going to buy electric vehicles, they need to know they can charge them where they live. It’s a win-win for Silver Spring and the state of Maryland,” said Borchardt.
