What Would You Improve in Silver Spring in 2013?

More than 45 percent of Americans make a resolution every year, according to statisticbrain.com. Some people vow to live a healthier lifestyle, others promise to spend more time with family, and many say they will try to save money.

As millions of Americans make resolutions to improve their lives, what do you want to see happen here in greater Silver Spring to make it an even better place to live?

A Completed Silver Spring Transit Center: This project has had some bumps—in its foundation, that is. County officials say it should be open this summer, but the $108 million convergence of Metro, Marc, buses and cars has been delayed for years. 

Walker and Biker-friendly Streets: Downtown Silver Spring's a great place to go carless, but next year's Capital Bikeshare program has brought the safety of Silver Spring's roads into question. Dan Reed offers some suggestions at Greater Greater Washington. What do you want to see happen in 2013 to make all of Silver Spring even easier to navigate for people who aren't in cars?

Help for Burtonsville: OK, not really in Silver Spring, but still part of the Colesville Road/Route 29 corridor. Small businesses and corporate franchises alike are struggling as cars pass the once thriving shopping and dining area by. We're hopeful zoning changes for an older shopping center will bring customers and vitality back to the neighborhood.
