PHOTO GALLERY: Chinese Lion Dance Performance

The Washington, DC Chinese Youth Club honored the Chinese Lunar New Year by performing a traditional Chinese lion dance at the Silver Spring Library Saturday, Feb. 26.

February 3, 2011 marked the arrival of the Chinese Lunar New Year.  This year, 2011, is the Year of the Rabbit, 4709 on the Chinese calendar. The Chinese lion dance is a necessary part of any Chinese New Year celebration and is believed to bring luck and happiness.
