Washington Revels uses some professional performers in its productions, but its volunteer choruses – adults, teens and children – are at its core. We look for children who are enthusiastic, musical, comfortable on stage and happy working in a group, and high-schoolers who are strong performers on stage. For our 30th annual celebration of the Winter solstice, we summon the memories of Christmas Revels past to celebrate the enduring spirit of joy that marks this time of the year. This evocation of the "ghosts" of England's Haddon Hall will draw from early music and dance of Britain and Europe -- the same music that inspired the first Christmas Revels in 1957. The cast of over 75 adults, teens and children, the Washington Revels Brass, and world-renowned Piffaro: The Renaissance Band, and the acting and fooling of Mark Jaster, Katrina Van Duyn, Oran Sandel, Morgan Duncan, and Sabrina Mandell, will delight audiences of all ages as they weave a tale of Revels past.  Please visit http://revelsdc.org/auditions.html to learn about the audition process and to sign up. No walk-ins permitted.
