Live Music Memorial Day Weekend - Wheaton, MD

  • This Memorial Day weekend on Saturday and Sunday there will be live music provided by three groups from the Greater Washington, DC area at the Wheaton International Market. The Wheaton International Market is open every Saturday and Sunday and is located outdoors at the Westfield Shopping Mall, 2730 University Blvd, Wheaton, Maryland. The market hours are 9 am until 4 pm both days. In addition to the live music there will be other family activities and many vendors selling international and domestic crafts, art, jewelry, antiques, vintage clothing, furniture, tools, books and much more. Admission is free.  The name of the groups performing are Woven Green (2 pm, Saturday), Bad.Loud.Trio (11 am, Saturday) and Pulse (1 pm, Sunday). Woven Green is an original rock band from Northern Virginia. It is a genre-bending band that has created a truly original and unique sound. with elements of rock, folk, fusion, world and reggae. The five musicans that comprise Woven Green complement each other’s skill and creativity – strong female vocals, rhythmic and percussive acoustic guitar, rockin’ electric guitar solos, soaring violin and mandolin, danceable bass lines and drumming that covers everything from Latin to tribal to rock. Woven Green with be the featured group performing at 2pm Saturday. Bad.Loud.Trio is a Washington, DC based young modern jazz trio (piano, bass and drums) whose music has a fresh young, accessible, and modern vibe which people from all walks of life and of all ages will enjoy. The members of this trio are recent graduates/students of the University of Maryland music program. They also play classic tunes, bebop, Latin, blues and more. Bad.Loud.Trio will be performing Saturday at 11am. Pulse is a local rock band based in Gaithersburg whose members currently attend high schools in the area. The members are Mikey Ambrosino, guitar, 15 year old Freshman at Wootton High School; Trevor Mooney, bass guitar, 15 year old Sophomore at Clarksburg High School; Kyle Lefelar, drums, 15 year old Freshman at St. Johns Catholic High School; and Josh Bernstein, vocals, 14 year old eighth grader at the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School. Pulse will be performing Sunday at 1pm. Memorial Day weekend at the Wheaton International Market should be very entertaining for the whole family and a great shopping experience.
