1. CONVERSATION ON THE PLAZA WITH PATCH'S TAMIKA SMITH

Where/When: Enjoy a conversation and freebies on Veterans Plaza (near the Majestic Theater) in downtown Silver Spring on Saturday, July 9, from noon to 1 p.m.

2. FOLKLIFE FESTIVAL ON THE NATIONAL MALL

Where/When: Join the festival in Washington, D.C. on Monday, July, 9th and 10th all day.

Why go: The booths feature cultural recognition from Colombia, the Peace Corps and more for its 45th anniversary! 

Pricing: The event is free and open to all. 

3. DISABILITIES AWARENESS EXPERIENCE

Where/When: 916 Ellsworth Dr., Silver Spring on Sunday, July 10, from 2-6 p.m.

Why go: Enjoy an afternoon of family-friendly activities, performances and ceremonies designed to increase awareness about disabilities.  

Pricing: Free.

4. OUTDOOR WORSHIP SERVICE 

Where/When: The Warner Memorial Presbyterian Church is located on 10123 Connecticut Ave., Kensington, MD. Services start on Sunday, July 10.

Why go: The early service at Temple Emanuel will be held at 8:30am on July 10, 24, 31 and August 14, 21 and 28. Bring a friend or neighbor and get closer to God in this beautiful outdoor setting.

5. BAT FOR CHARITY WITH A WIDER CIRCLE 

Where/When: At Norwood Park in Bethesda/Chevy Chase, located at 4700 Norwood Dr., Bethesda, MD. Starts at 11:00 a.m.

Why Go: Enjoy a great competition between A Wider Circle's team and three additional teams that will step up to plate and play for charity. Bring the family.
