Where/When: Friday, April 21, 2012 at Lanark Way & Colesville Rd, Silver Spring, MD. The event goes from at 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Why go: Many of the 1,200 homes located between Sligo Creek Parkway, Dennis Avenue, University Boulevard, Colesville Road and Forest Glen Road will offer a variety of items - from household goods to furniture, children's clothing and toys.

3. LES MISERABLES PERFORMED AT BLAIR

Where/When:  The acclaimed musical Les Miserables will be staged at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring on Friday, April 20, at 7:30 pm. They will also be performing Saurday, April 21, April 22 (a 2 pm matinee), April 27 and April 28.

Why go: To enjoy a performance you won't forget! These students are awesome.

4. FLOWER AVENUE MARKET BACK BY DEMAND

Where/When: The Flower Avenue Market runs from April 7 through December at 8809 Flower Avenue at the corner of Arliss Street in Silver Spring. It goes from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why go: Shoppers will find an array of antiques, art, autographs, books, china, collectibles, clothing and accessories, crafts, decorative glass, furniture, household items, toys and countless other items. This market does a lot of social good, too.

5. VAGINA MONOLOGUES AT MONTGOMERY COLLEGE

Where/When: April Is Child Abuse Prevention Month. The District 2012 presents a benefit production of the Vagina Monologues on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at 7 p.m. The Vagina Monologues will benefit Stop the Silence: Stop
Child Abuse.
  The performance will take place at Montgomery College Silver Spring/Takoma Park Campus located at Montgomery College Cultural
Arts Center, 7995 Georgia Ave.

Pricing: Tickets are $20 - $35 and may be purchased at
