4. HOLIDAY COCKTAIL PARTY 

Where/When: 8131 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20910 (Fire Station 1 Restaurant & Brewing Company) on Friday, Dec. 16 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Why go: The Young Democrats of Maryland Women's Caucus and the Montgomery County Young Democrats are hosting an open Holiday Cocktail Party celebrating the Democratic women of Maryland.

5. CHRISTMAS CAROL AT THE PLAYHOUSE

Where/When: 311 Kent Square Rd. in North Potomac at the Arts Barn Theatre on Friday, Dec. 16. It starts at 8 p.m.

Why Go: The Montgomery Playhouse presents its production of Charles Dickens's holiday classic A Christmas Carol.
