2. A WINTER CELEBRATION HOSTED BY TLC
Where/When: Join the Christmas festivities on Veterans Plaza in downtown Silver Spring on Saturday, Dec. 10 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Why go: Complimentary skating will be availabe along with fun giveaways and tasty treats.

3. LATINO FESTIVAL: SISTER CITY FIESTA
Where/When: Montgomery College Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus at the student development center located at 7625 Fenton St. in Takoma Park from 6 p.m. to midnight.
Why go: Help raise money to send medical equipment and supplies to El Salvador.
Pricing: $25
Where/When: The beer and wine store is located on 1327 Fenwick Lane and the tasting is on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 2 to 5 p.m.
Why go: Enjoy the taste of Baying Hound Aleworks and Brewmaster Paul Rinehart will be running the tasting.

5. MINI NUTCRACKER PERFORMANCE
Where/When: Montgomery College Cultural Arts Center at Silver Spring located at 7995 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring on Saturday, Dec. 10 and Sunday, Dec. 11 at 1 p.m.
Why Go: Join the Maryland Youth Ballet Come as the perform "The Mini-Nut'" Part of the Around the World Passport Series."
