Police Blotter: Summary of Crimes the Week of Nov. 7 and Nov. 15

Residential burglaries along with robberies were a major part of police duty.

This week in the Montgomery County Police major crimes for the week summary in Silver Spring, commercial burglaries along with residential and robberies dominate the report. Crimes report for the week of Nov. 7 - Nov. 15 are as follows:

  • In downtown Silver Spring the crime activity varied in the Patch crime summaries map.
  • 9000 1st Avenue: A residential burglary occurred on Tuesday, Nov. 15 between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. in the block. There was not a forced entry and property was taken.
  • 9300 Warren Street: A residential burglary occurred on Tuesday, Nov. 15 between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. There was a forced entry and nothing was taken.
  • 2200 Montgomery Street: A residential burglary occurred on Tuesday, Nov. 15 between 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. There was a forced entry and property was taken.
  • Piney Branch Road and Arliss Street: A robbery/assault occurred in the area of of Silver Spring on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 5:08 a.m. The suspects approached the adult female victim, assaulted her, and snatched her purse before fleeing in a vehicle.
  • 500 University Boulevard East: A robbery/assault occurred in the , Silver Spring on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at midnight. The suspects approached the adult male victim, knocked him to the ground, assaulted him and snatched his cell phone before fleeing in the listed vehicle. A robbery occurred at Eastern Middle School at Monday, Nov. 7 at 11:49 a.m.  No further information is available.
  • 8700 Bradford Road: A residential burglary occurred on Wednesday, Nov. 9 between 1:30 p.m. and 2:13 p.m. The suspect(s) used unknown means to enter and removed property.  
  • 1000  Quebec Terrac: A residential burglary occurred on Monday, Nov. 7 between 1 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. There was a forced entry butt nothing was taken.
