Return of Discovery Channel's Shark Week

Soon, you will once again have the opportunity to pursue your fascination with everything shark. Discovery Channel announced the return of the 24th annual Shark Week coming this summer. For the first time in Shark Week’s blood curdling history, the communications company has selected a Chief Shark Officer (CSO), according to the Discovery Blog. 

As part of his duties, CSO Andy Samberg will appear in on-air segments and may even take a dive with some of his sharp-teethed co-stars. Samberg is known for his work on Saturday Night Live and  Lonely Island.

 As always, Discover Channel promises to deliver some of the most exciting shark related programming ever seen. For those who can’t wait until the summer to get back in the swim, the media company has a host of shark-related videos on its website.", including the “Top 10 Shark Attack Videos” and “Top 35 Great White Shark Videos.” There are also shark games and for the more daring, a virtual shark dive. The website also promises a week of shark programming on television, including the must see, “Shark Attack Survival Guide,” which promises to reveal “the one thing to remember when confronted with one of Earth’s largest predators . . .”

Speaking of earth’s largest predators, downtown Silver Spring will be greeted by the appearance of the giant shark that seems to flow through the Discovery Building each and every Shark Week.
