Here is a peak into this week's issue:
- The Lt. Governor is set to speak at the monthly Action Committee for Transit (ACT) on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. at the Silver Spring Civic Building (One Veterans Place). Maryland's Lt. Governor Anthony Brown, will make some brief remarks followed by a question and answer period. Questions will focus on transit and transportation issues.
- The Silver Spring Transportation Management District Advisory Committee meets Thursday, June 14 inside of the Discovery Communications building located 1 Discovery Place. The meeting starts at 8 a.m.
- Snakehead run is set to perform on Twilight Tuesdays (June 12). As you stroll by downtown in the evenings you may notice some wonderful ambiance music coming from Veterans Plaza. These "Twilight Tuesday" performances are intended to enhance the public enjoyment of our downtown area. Stop by for a few minutes and enjoy! The performance goes from 7-9pm on Veterans Plaza.
- An opening reception (6-7:30 pm) will be held inside of the Silver Spring Civic Building (located at One Veterans Place) for the Betty Mae Kramer Gallery and Music Room for a solo exhibition of works by Samantha Ritchie, the 2012 recipient of the Ida F. Haimovicz Visual Arts Award. The exhibit will go from June 1 to June 29.
- On Wednesday, June 13 get ready for Little Tots Summer Fun! Beowulf T. Wonderbunny is set to perform at 6 p.m. in downtown near the Fountain Plaza Stage on Ellsworth Drive.
