Collecting and dispersing prom dresses for young ladies in local high schools who are facing economical or situational challenges

Silver Spring, Maryland--The Heart of Tabitha Foundation, a Maryland Non-Profit Charitable Corporation, in partnership with On the Purple Couch is delighted to announce our “1st Annual Prom Dress Drive” beginning Monday, April 29th, supporting local high school girls who need assistance in getting outfitted for their pre-graduation celebration prom.  This is a very important milestone in the life of high school students.  We hope to support positive self-esteem and inclusion by providing girls who need some help with special occasion dresses.

Donors may drop off donated dresses to the On The Purple Couch location at 955 Bonifant Street in Silver Spring, MD.

About Our Organizations

The objective of The Heart of Tabitha Foundation dba The Sisters Closet (TSC) is to promote the development of life skills that build strong self-confidence in young ladies.  By getting involved with the functions of TSC, girls will not only find free clothing and school supplies but also experience model work training in retail and learn financial literacy, mentoring programs with emphasis on self care.   Student will be able to fulfill their service learning requirements and become more involved in their community through leadership development activities.  Donating gently used or new clothing is a great way to help families who cannot afford to buy new clothes for their children. Your generous gift of either clothes or financial support will contribute to improving a young girl’s life. Its founder and executive director, Jazmyn McKoy, is a senior at Holton-Arms School in Bethesda, MD.  “We hope that TSC’s programs will inspire coming generations to develop a passion for philanthropy,” Mckoy said.
