Bites Nearby: Corner Pub
Each week, Silver Spring Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out. Here's this week's choice.
Whether you head to the Corner Pub with your family for pizza or with your rowdiest friends for libations and late-night wings, you are going to have a great time.
This Four Corners mainstay is split right down the middle with a bar full of regulars on one side, and a homey restaurant on the other.
The restaurant side is a family-friendly hole in the wall before bedtime, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the famous square pan pizza is half off. Crayons and coloring books, as well as game shows or sports on the TV screens, keep everyone busy until the food arrives. (And if it is an especially busy night, there is video golf for when you get desperate.) Other good eats include the burgers and fries, and the wings are especially tasty.

has a Cheers vibe, packed with old friends, but after a Bud or Sierra or two (or four) you will be considered one of the crowd. The bar does a brisk business from happy hour until late night.
My husband I love this place as our last drink of the evening after a night out. Sometimes the Corner Pub provides a quiet place for talk and a final beer. Other times the crowd is so rocking that an unlikely adventure involving karaoke, Keno and arm wrestling can be had. Also, the kitchen closes late if your stomach is growling past 10 p.m.
