I know it is football season, but on a perfectly mild early fall night, do not even think about defrosting a pizza and parking it in front of the TV. Instead, head to the patio at with a pal and soak up the final days of summer. 

But if you DO happen to miss eating your dindin in front of the tube, Savannah's will still hook you up. Boasting over 15 televisions throughout the bar and dining areas and the entire NFL package, you can still get your sports and TV fix.

If you are looking for fancy ambiance, this is not the place. It is a neighborhood joint, and here it only takes one visit to be treated like a regular.

This American grill restaurant is a favorite of Kensington, Wheaton, Silver Spring and Chevy Chase residents, located at the intersection of all four communities. The expansive patio is one of the few locations in the Connecticut Avenue and University Boulevard crossroads area to offer al fresco dining.

Steaks, burgers and seafood make up the majority of the food offered. The pub grub such as hamburgers, deli sandwiches, fries and appetizers are good calls. Subs like the meatball and cheesesteak shine. There is also a full seafood menu, and the Cuban sandwiches are surprisingly traditional and yum for an American place.
