VIDEO: Changes in Your Community: One-on-One with Kefa Cafe Owner

Kefa Cafe celebrates 15 years in June and the owner shares her perspective of how the new development has affected her family's business.

Welcome to our new series called "Changes in Your Community!" We will explore development and what that has meant to the diverse neighborhoods in Silver Spring. Throughout this feature you will meet Montgomery County officials working behind the scenes on the expansion of these projects, small business owners, and local leaders among others.

In part one of this series, we interview Lene Tsegaye who is part owner of Kefa Cafe. When her family business opened they were one of the few places that focused on serving up a good cup of joe. Tsegaye has watched the transformation of many new development projects in Silver Spring from the Discovery Communications headquarters building to the Paul S. Sarbanes Transit Center (commonly known as the Silver Spring Transit project).

Sit down with us as we take you on the journey of the transformation of downtown Silver Spring.
