Family Fun this Weekend in Montgomery County

Here are some fun things to do around town with the family this weekend.

 

Where/When: Meadowside Nature Center, Rock Creek Regional Park, 5100 Meadowside Lane, Rockville, MD USA 20855, 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

Why to go:  You, your family, or your group can help give the park’s native plants room to grow by removing the invasive non-natives. Bring leather gloves if you have them or borrow ours. No registration required; please call in advance if you'd like to bring a group. SSL-approved. Register at ParkPASS.org.

Why to go:  Astounding magic and slight-of-hand with interactive theatre and hilarious fun. Ages 10 and up.

Why to go:  D.C. United Women's soccer team is the premier W-League team in the country. With the absence of the Women's Professional Soccer League, the top players are playing right in your back yard with the D.C. United Women! The roster boasts such stars as Becky Sauerbrunn from the Women's National Team, international pro sensations and up & coming local college stand outs. This is an inexpensive event for all ages to experience! Make it a family night, team bonding event or a social outing!

Why to go:  Come watch the Bethesda Big Train, the number one ranked Summer Collegiate Baseball team in the Nation! The Big Train are coming off their third consecutive Cal Ripken League Championship. Exciting baseball and family friendly entertainment for the entire family!

Where/When: Downtown Wheaton, Sunday, June 8, 2012, 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Why to go:  Kick-off your weekend with great music in downtown Wheaton!

Enjoy live music from top musicians in the DC area every 2nd and 4th Friday June through August from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.

Bring a blanket, chair and your family and friends -- And don't forget to grab a bite to eat from one of our great local restaurants before or after the show!
