Where/When: Enjoy jazz played by various artists this week at Zed's Cafe (one of Silver Spring's newest businesses) located at 8225 Georgia Ave. The music starts at 8 p.m.

2. AFI BABIES MOVIE SCREENING

Where/When: Join other Silver Spring moms and their little ones Friday, June 1 at the AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center located at 8633 Colesville Rd.

Why go: You will also be able to meet up with other moms in the area and enjoy time out of the house with the baby. This Friday, they are showing Best Exotic Marigold Hotel at noon and Bernie at 12:15 p.m.

Pricing: $8.50 for adults and babies are free, includes free stroller parking.

3. CHOCOLATE MAKING 101 FOR TWO

Where/When: Head Chocolatier Crisoire Reid teaches you secrets of the trade on Friday, June 1 from 6 p.m to 8:30 p.m. at Spagnvola located at 360 Main St, Gaithersburg, MD.

Why go: You ever wonder how chocolate is created to give you that sweet little treat that melts in your mouth? Well, this weekend is your chance to discover the secret within.

4. FENWICK BEER AND WINE TASTING

Where/When: The beer and wine store is located on 1327 Fenwick Ln. There will be two tastings. On Friday, June 1 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m and Saturday, June 2 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Why go: This is the weekend for beer lovers! On Friday, they will feature a tasting from California's very own Lagunitas. On Saturday, the historically known New Hampshire beer, Smuttynose will be on tap.

Where/When: The race kicks off on Saturday, June 2 at 8 a.m. from 15th St. NW AND Jefferson Dr. SW in Washington, DC .
