Oprah's Network Closes Distribution Deal with Comcast

The network, which partners with Silver Spring-based Discovery Communications, will offer its entertainment to Comcast customers.

 

Comcast subscribers will soon have access to the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), but the specifics of the multi-year agreement announced on April 3 were not disclosed.

"We're pleased to partner with Comcast to bring its customers OWN's quality programming and appreciate the support from our affiliate and advertiser partners who recognize the brand strength we are building in OWN," Erik Logan, President of OWN, said.

OWN is a joint venture between Harpo, Inc. and Silver Spring-based Discovery Communications. The network debuted on January 1, 2011 in about 77 million homes on what was the Discovery Health Channel.

The venture also includes Oprah.com
