Patch Picks: Read Across America Day

The Silver Spring Library offers a variety of books among variety of other services!

Read Across America Day serves as a friendly reminder that reading is an important part of life. Books, magazines, nooks and newspapers allow readers to learn about interestingg cultures around the world. This week's Patch Pick's come from The Silver Spring Library. Silver Spring Spring Library Manager Dan Beavin and his staff gave Patch a list of books they though would be interesting to read.

1. The Accidental Tourist is a 1985 novel by Anne Tyler and was a finalist for a Pulitzer Prize. It was eventually adopted into a movie in 1988 and was the most amazing story, according to library officials.

2. Novels by Stieg Larsson are favorites of patrons at the library. Many people read the first book and want to read the rest of the series. It's a mulfaceted book and it's a different culture which is interesting to variety of people.
