Pete's New Haven Style Apizza Shoots for June Opening
The Silver Spring location will be the company's fourth in the Washington, DC area.
The wait for an authentic taste of Connecticut will continue for a few more weeks, Joel Mehr, one of three owners of Pete's New Haven Style Apizza told Patch.
Mehr said he's now shooting for a June 1 opening for his company's fourth location. The Silver Spring location, near the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Wayne Avenue, will feature the same menu offerings as the company's current locations in Columbia Heights, Friendship Heights and Clarendon, VA.
Pete's has wanted to open up in Silver Spring for a while, Mehr told Patch in December, and it seems the neighborhood is just as eager for the restaurant. Mehr said residents and organizations frequently call to find out when Pete's will open. Pete's has already worked with Maryland Youth Ballet and plans to host students from Montgomery Blair High, Mehr said.
