Reports: Sweetgreen to Georgia Ave This Summer
The salad shop has scoped 8517 Georgia Ave. in downtown Silver Spring, DC Eater reports.
The market for locally sourced, organic salad and frozen yogurt in downtown Silver Spring is about to get a bit wider. DC Eater reports that DMV favorite Sweetgreen plans to set up shop at 8517 Georgia Ave., a spot vacated by Living Ruff.
"We've wanted to be in Silver Spring for awhile and we finally found a location," co-owner Nic Jammet told DC Eater. He said fans of the restaurant often write to request a Silver Spring location.
Jammet is eyeing an early summer opening with a unique downtown aesthetic that retains the restaurant's signature look.

According to Sweetgreen's website, the company emphasizes environmentally friendly policies that include buying from local farmers, using compostable packaging and selling meats without antibiotics or hormones.
The company operates nine locations in the District, two in Maryland and three in Virginia.
