Welcome back to our weekly rundown of five local deals to help with your family’s bottom line. Since we do the scouting, we save you time as well as money.
This week we scoured our local sources and found saving on dining out--with entertainment--at mystery dinner theatre; deals on kid's shoes and DVDs; paperback books (for all ages); smoothie deals, and a new fragrance special. Remember to check with the merchant for additional conditions, if any:

Deal: Take 15% off Friday Nights at Blair Mansion Restaurant's Interactive Comedy Mystery Theater, currently presenting "Death and Taxes."

2. Children's Shoes: Stride Rite /J and S Shoes, 11160 Veirs Mill Road, 301-946-4747, Wheaton Plaza Center (and other participating locations).
Deal: Buy one pair of shoes and get a second pair for 50 percent off, in store and online.
Good through: April 4 (stores and online), or April 12 at Stride Rite Outlets. (Outlet deal not available online; see website for details).

Deal: Get a free 20-ounce smoothie when you buy a Smoothie King Gladiator Meal Replacement, with coupon. Also sign up for their online newsletter and receive a free small smoothie when you purchase one (small size or larger).
Good through: Coupon deal good through September 30, 2011; email offer ongoing.
4. Kid's DVDs, and books (for everyone): Borders, 8518 Fenton Street, 301-585-0550
Deal: Save 50 percent on selected kid's DVDs, plus all paperbacks are buy one, get the second one 50 percent off.
Good through: Hurry - Kid's DVD sale good through April 4; paperback sale in progress.
5. New Spring Fragrance, for $1.00: Bath & Body Works, 11160 Veirs Mill Road, 301-933-8791 (Wheaton Plaza Center).
Deal: Get a two-ounce lotion size of their newest fragrance for $1.00, or a three-ounce fragrance mist for $2.00, during the fragrance preview. (Regularly $3.50 and $5.00, respectively).
Good through: May 5 (or while supplies last).
