There's a popular idea that coffee was first brewed in Ethiopia. Two sisters from the country have been bringing a taste of East Africa to downtown Silver Spring for over 16 years and their story was featured on the news program Voice of America.
Kefa Cafe, located at 963 Bonifant Street, has gained a loyal following—that reportedly includes County Executive Isiah Leggett—bringing authentic Ethiopian coffee to the neighborhood.
