Whole Foods Market's Diaper Drop A Success

Earth Month event was held to support the DC Diaper Bank.

in Silver Spring kicked off Earth Month with a “Diaper Drop” to benefit the DC Diaper Bank. On Saturday, April 2 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. they accepted donations of new and unused diapers to support mothers in need in the community.

As babies can go through as many as ten diapers in a single day, the 8,500 diapers collected during the four-hour event will go a long way in defraying the $100 per month disposable diapers can cost.

“Events like this make me proud to work in the Silver Spring community,” said marketing team leader Heather Foley.“We knew that our customers would come through for the DC Diaper Bank, but we never expected 8,500 diapers,” added Foley.
