NLC Dean Appointed Provost by Board of Trustees

Silver Spring, MD, July 30, 2013National Labor College (NLC) is pleased to announce that Dean Daniel Katz, PhD, is the new provost chosen by NLC’s Board of Trustees.

 

Katz will continue his role as dean and oversee all academic programs and student services.

"Dan is an outstanding choice for this position and will be an important part of NLC’s leadership team for years to come," said NLC President Paula E. Peinovich, PhD. "He brings with him broad experience in higher education and the labor movement and as Dean, has shown his dedication to our mission over the past year and a half.”

“I am committed to working hard every day to strive for top-flight academic achievement and set priorities for the College’s future that reflect our unique student population. My love of labor history and respect for working men and women drive me to make NLC the best institution it can be," said Katz.

 

Katz is a widely recognized labor history author who has published two books and numerous scholarly articles, reviews, and reports. He is also a sought-after lecturer and serves on several boards and committees. Katz earned his PhD in history from Rutgers University, and his master’s and bachelor’s degrees from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
