Here are five things to know as you go through your day.

Good morning, Silver Spring! Here are five things to know this Wednesday to help you keep up-to-date about what’s going on in the community:

1. Expect a mostly sunny day, with a high near 45 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

Tonight: There is a slight chance of rain and cloudy skies, with a low temperature around 40 degrees.

2. The YMCA located on 9800 Hastings Drive is hosting an open house. Stop by to enjoy free group exercise classes, a wellness assessment, tour the facility and snacks from local vendors. This event is open to the community and goes from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

3. Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Kids Reading Network needs volunteers for East Silver Spring Elementary School Reading Program. 4. located on 9504 Brunett Ave. is hosting the Adult Education Series: The Media and Your Child: How to Power Down. The event is for parents who feel confronted with digital stimulation and is finding difficulty with making their home media free to encourage conversations. The event cost $8 and starts at 7:30 p.m.
