Good morning! What five things do you need to know to stay up-to-date about what’s going on in the community? Patch has you covered this Thursday morning:

1. According to the National Weather Service, you can expect a mostly sunny day with the temperature reaching 94 degrees. The evening is supposed to be partly cloudy with temperatures in the mid 70s.

2. The Silver Spring Stories Film Festival, produced by Docs in Progress, will be held at the Silver Spring Civic Building from 6:30-8:30 p.m. This one-night free community film festival celebrates the people and places of Silver Spring.

3. On this day in 1929, first lady Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy was born. According to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, she was an accomplished equestrian rider. 

4. Take the kids to toddler story hour at Evergreen School. Meet other toddler parents in an environment designed just for them. A snack will be provided.
