What five things do you need to know to stay up-to-date about what’s going on in the community? Well, Patch has you covered - and who knows, they may even help your Thursday go by faster!

1. Expect a break from the rainy weather today with a jolt if sunshine. The weather service predicts a sunny day with a high of 67 degrees. Into the evening the skies may be mostly clear, with a low around 45. 

2. Senator Jamie Raskin and other democrats to kickoff President Obama’s election campaign in Silver Spring and Takoma Park. The event hosted by community organizer Mark Ferrenz is looking to rally support for the president at Takoma Park Middle School.
