Happy Thursday, Silver Spring! Here are five things you need to know as you start your day.

Happy Thursday, Silver Spring! Here are five things to know, to help you keep up-to-date about what’s going on in the community:

1. Expect a chance of showers along with thunderstorms after 2 p.m, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 70 degrees. Into the evening, a chance of showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue. Temperatures are expected to drop into the low 60s. 

2. If you missed it, the public is being asked to document the oil-like odor to help the investigation by Montgomery County and Takoma Park city officials.

3. Have you taken the pink ribbon challenge for Breast Cancer Awareness Month? Wear a pink ribbon, or print out the one we’ve created for you, shown here in our photo gallery. Snap a photo of yourself and upload it.
